- Summer at Your Library Program
Published on June 9, 2022
Readers of all ages are invited to participate in Placer County Library’s Summer “Camp” at Your Library program.
This year’s theme, “Read Beyond the Beaten Path,” celebrates adventure, the great outdoors and all things camping. Readers of all ages can track reading, participate in challenges and win merit badges and prizes through the digital platform, Beanstack.
Planned special programs and performances include puppets, plant science, art and animals.
Families are encouraged to visit a neighborhood Placer County library each week to participate in camp reading activities together.
“Last year we challenged Placer County to read 500,000 minutes during the summer, and you all did not disappoint,” said programming librarian, Felicia Black. “This year we are doubling the challenge to one million minutes!”
If participants can collectively read one million minutes, Placer librarians will perform an outrageous stunt.
Participants can join the summer program by visiting https://placer.beanstack.org or by downloading the Beanstack app, which is free for iOS and Android.
