Connect with Placer County libraries during National Library Week, April 3-9

Published on April 4, 2022

This week, the Placer County Library encourages all community members to visit their library in-person or online to explore and access services and programs.

The theme for this year’s National Library Week is “Connect with Your Library,” which promotes the idea that libraries are places to get connected to technology by using Wi-Fi, computers, and other resources.

National Library Week, April 3-9, is a time to highlight the essential role libraries, librarians and library workers play in transforming lives and strengthening communities.

The Placer County Library offers free programs, classes and resources that are available in person or from the comfort of home, including storytimes, book clubs, mobile library services, streaming media, online job training, homework help and more.

“This is the week to collectively cheer for libraries! We’d love to see you in person or online. Please visit your library and bring a friend! If you can’t come in person, log-on and share your love on social media,” said Placer County Library Services Director Mary George. “I’d like to spend the week appreciating the dedicated staff, partners, Friends of the Library members, and county-wide teams that support and care for the Placer County Libraries. Thank you one and all and Happy National Library Week.”

This National Library Week, community members can show their appreciation and support for libraries by visiting their library in person or online, following them on social media and using the hashtag #NationalLibraryWeek on social media.

Initiated in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association and libraries of all types across the country each April.
