Part-time secretary positions available for Meadow Vista and Weimar/Applegate/Colfax Municipal Advisory Councils

Published March 17, 2022

The Placer County Board of Supervisors Office has part-time secretary openings for both the Meadow Vista Municipal Advisory Council (MV MAC) and the Weimar/Applegate/Colfax Municipal Advisory Council (WAC MAC). Both positions can be filled by one person. The positions require attendance at regular and special meetings of the MAC, which meet as needed, either virtually or in person. In-person meetings of the Meadow Vista MAC are held at the Meadow Vista Community Center and in-person meetings of the WAC MAC are held at the Colfax City Hall. Virtual meetings are conducted via Zoom.

The MAC secretary is responsible for posting and mailing public meeting notices and agendas, preparing and distributing summary meeting minutes, and maintaining the records of the MAC in coordination with Placer County staff. This contract position is paid on a per-meeting basis.

Municipal Advisory Councils (MACs) are comprised of local residents who advise the Board of Supervisors on issues or concerns. MACs are designed to provide a local public forum where information about land use, transportation and general county information is shared and discussed. Residents are welcome and encouraged to attend MAC meetings to talk about issues that are important to them.
