- PCGC road closure
Published on Feb. 3, 2022
Placer County closed a county road today at the Placer County Government Center in North Auburn.
C Avenue is closed from Richardson Drive to Rustic Lane.
All county offices will remain accessible and detours will be clearly marked.
The road is expected to be closed for two years as part of the new Placer County Health and Human Services Center project construction.
The new HHS facility is included in the county’s recently-updated master plan for the Placer County Government Center and would help consolidate existing staff and services in the Auburn service area from six divisions in a 142,000-square-foot facility in North Auburn.
The “one-stop” service center for the Auburn and foothills area would improve public access to HHS services and supplant the multiple World War II-era facilities currently in use. It would also be the county’s first zero-net-energy facility, generating as much electricity as it consumes over the course of a year through the use of carport-mounted photovoltaic panels.
