Supervisors seek local control of virus response
The Placer County Board of Supervisors has approved a resolution asking California’s governor to terminate the current state of emergency declaration and give local control back to counties, thereby allowing them to craft their own guidelines to manage the reopening of businesses while continuing to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

Board approves urgency ordinances
The Placer County Board of Supervisors approved a series of urgency ordinances in response to the COVID-19 emergency. In the first of two urgency ordinances, the board voted to delay the annual adjustment of impact fees until October instead of July.

Placer County’s health officer last night submitted the County of Placer’s “COVID-19 County Variance Attestation Form” to the California Department of Public Health, accompanied by letters of support from the Board of Supervisors and local hospital systems.

Placer asks to move to Stage 3
Pointing to Placer County’s success at flattening the COVID-19 curve and the proactive efforts of the local business community to prepare for safely reopening, the county Board of Supervisors today unanimously approved a resolution to request permission from the state to move into Stage 3 of California’s reopening roadmap.

Placer County will begin increasing its public counter services Monday, June 1, with precautionary measures in place to help protect residents and employees from the novel coronavirus.
