Free Legal Self Help
FREE LEGAL SELF-HELP – EVICTIONS, RESTRAINING ORDERS, SMALL CLAIMS, EMERGENCY FAMILY AND OTHER LEGAL MATTERS.
All classes, clinics and other in-person activities have been canceled. All self-help is now provided remotely via email, telephone, or videoconferencing.
Placer County Law Library (PCLL)
PCLL is part of a system of County Law Libraries that provide free services and materials to the public.
For free remote self-help assistance with legal matters, please email email@example.com, or call (530) 537-2078 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday-Saturday. PCLL has a comprehensive collection of all types of forms, books, how-to guides, information sheets, samples, videos and other materials available upon request. Responsive materials will be emailed to you.
Legal Services of Northern California
Legal Services of Northern California is assisting customers remotely with eviction, small claims, restraining orders, family law and other matters. You can reach a staff member to discuss your case by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org, or you can call (530) 823-7560, leave a message and they will call you back. Always include your contact information and state the nature of your request (eviction, restraining order, etc.).
Placer County Superior Court Self-Help Center
Find complete information on the free legal self-help available at the Self-Help Center, and how to access it, on the Placer County Superior Court Website Home page. Click on the Self-Help Center Tab at the top of the page. Self-Help is available by Telephone or Video by Appointment only. Contact Telephone (916) 408-6446.
To schedule a phone or video conference appointment, use the Appointment Reservation System. You will reach the Make Appointments page by clicking on the paragraph that starts with “To schedule a phone appointment or video conference with the Self-Help Center.” This takes you to the Online Appointment page. At the very bottom of the page is a link labeled “Click here to Schedule an Appointment”.
On the Make an Appointment page, in the first box (labeled Choose a Service), click on the drop-down on the top right and choose either Self-Help Video or Self-Help Telephone Appointment. Complete the rest of the form and click the Submit button to send your request.
