Bowman Road closing next week for construction of Bowman Road Bridges Improvement Project

Beginning the week of April 8, Bowman Road will be closed between Apple Lane and Old Airport Road as construction begins on the Bowman Road Bridges Improvement Project. Both lanes of the road will be closed to traffic until project completion, anticipated next winter.

During construction, the bridges will not be in service and emergency vehicles will not be allowed through the site. The county is encouraging drivers to make other arrangements for their travel routes. Interstate 80 can be used as a convenient parallel detour for vehicles and a shuttle service will also be available to transport bicyclists and pedestrians around the construction site. Access to all schools, businesses and residences will remain open throughout construction.

Construction is anticipated to last through winter 2019-20 and work hours will generally occur Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Night or weekend work may occur as necessary with county approval.
