Over 100 county employees, representing over 1,000 years of service combined, were recently presented with 2017 Annual County Service Awards to honor their work at Placer County. Board of Supervisors Chair Jim Holmes and new County Executive Officer Todd Leopold presented individual awards to the employees in two separate sessions, Feb. 1 and Feb. 20, as family, friends and co-workers joined to celebrate those being honored.
The awards recognize employees for significant milestones including 15, 20, 25 and 30 years of service. Those honored represent a cross section of all county departments and offices.
“I am honored and privileged to work with such a dedicated group of people, and I commend each and every one of you for your many years of hard work. It’s employees like you who help make Placer County’s services of the highest quality, and on behalf of the Board, I thank you.” - Board of Supervisors Chair Jim Holmes.
“My favorite part of working for Placer County is the people I work with, for sure. The county has been very good to my family. When I started working for Placer County, I had no children; now, I have grandchildren. My oldest daughter is working for the county, my husband retired from working with the county, so it’s a family affair." -Julie Pollock, Child Support Services (25-year award)
“I have learned so much working for Placer County, and I’ve worked with wonderful people, no matter where I’ve been in the county. I’m also very proud to work for an agency that is forward thinking. I would advise anyone to come work for Placer County. I love my job.” - Janet Longueira, Placer County Sheriff’s Office (20-year award)

There are lots of opportunities in Placer County, so don’t be afraid to explore the possibilities and find the thing that makes you happy and makes you enjoy coming to work. Definitely the friendships I have made has been my favorite part of working for Placer County.” - Paula Shostek, Community Development Resource Agency (30-year award)
