County Counsel

The County Counsel’s Office provides legal advice and support to:

• The Board of Supervisors
• County Appointed Officials
• County Departments, Offices, Boards, and Commissions
• County Elected Officials
• The County Executive Office
• Some Independent Districts

The County Counsel's Office also provides legal representation and advocacy in civil litigation and administrative hearings involving the County and its officers and employees. Our Juvenile and Adult Dependency team provides legal advice and representation in child and adult protective services, actions, as well as in mental health, public guardian and public administrator matters.
