Comprises of nine members appointed by the Board of Supervisors (not officials of the County), who are qualified by experience and training to pass upon matters pertaining to building construction. One member representing Fire Officials and one representing physically handicapped. All members serving 4 year terms.
Hear and determine appeal from Code interpretations of Building Inspector. Have the authority to determine the suitability of, and authorize the substitution of, materials and types of construction equipment to those specified by this Code and the State Housing Law. Act as advisory body to the Board of Supervisors on all matters pertaining to the construction industry. Promulgate reasonable rules and regulations for conducting its hearings and meetings.
Members shall receive no compensation for their services; however, any member traveling on official business for the Council shall be reimbursed for his actual and necessary traveling expense.
