Enterprise Support & Project Management

The Information Technology Enterprise Support Services Group consisting of ACORN, web and project management teams is led by Michael Spak, Information Technology Manager. The group is instrumental in supporting countywide as well as departmental business solutions from project portfolio management to application implementation and support. The group supports the following areas:

Automated County Online Resource Network (ACORN) Application Support

The County’s Enterprise Resource Planning solution (ACORN) continues to evolve. Application Support Services is committed to leveraging the County's investment by introducing new modules and functionality to streamline business processes across the Enterprise. Business and application analysts support the countywide Enterprise Resource Planning solution through the following:

  • Business Continuity Operations
  • Oracle Database Administration
  • PeopleSoft Support and Enhancements
  • UNIX Operating System Administration

Web & Business Process Solutions

The Web team is responsible for the County’s public and internal websites. The County’s public site continues to evolve by offering online services to engage, interact, and otherwise benefit citizens. County internal sites engage employees increasing communication and productivity through information sharing and collaboration.

The IT Project Management Office (PMO) oversees the planning, management, and execution of the County’s information technology project portfolio. The PMO team utilizes industry best practices and standards to deliver projects on time and within budget. A primary objective of the PMO is to establish information technology as a strategic asset which delivers measurable value to Placer County.
