Accidental Death & Dismemberment

Placer County provides employees with $10,000 Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance at no cost.

Additional Coverage

Additional AD&D insurance coverage is available for the employee, up to $500,000. However, you cannot exceed 10 times your annual salary. If you select an amount that is higher than allowed, your selections will be defaulted to your annual maximum limit. If your salary decreases during the plan year, it is your responsibility to notify the Human Resources Department. This is to ensure you continue to qualify for the AD&D amount you selected.

Spouses, Partners, & Children

AD&D insurance is also available for your spouse or registered domestic partner, up to age 70. Amounts range from $10,000 to $300,000 but cannot exceed your coverage amount. Unmarried dependent children up to age 23 can also be covered. Amounts range from $5,000 to $25,000. One premium covers all children, but they must be enrolled to receive coverage.
