The California Mortgage Relief Program, which helps homeowners catch up on their housing payments, has just launched a property tax assistance option.
Beginning Friday, March 31, 2023, the California Mortgage Relief Program is raising the limit for assistance with delinquent property taxes from $20,000 to a maximum of $80,000 per household.

Tristan Butcher serves as the Placer County Treasurer-Tax Collector, an elected official. The County Treasurer serves as the bank to the County, all school districts, and numerous special districts.
The Treasury currently has $1.5 billion on deposit at a low point and over $2.1 billion at a high point. These monies are held in various investments consisting of treasury notes and bills, other government bonds, and money market instruments.
The County Tax Collector collects taxes for more than 70 different taxing agencies within the county. The office collects over 230 different taxes including special assessments and direct charges. For the 2020/2021 tax year, they are $1,079,687,582.
The department has an annual budget of $3.8 million.
