PG&E has announced it will continue to monitor a strong offshore wind event that is expected to begin Wednesday morning and last through Thursday morning. To reduce the risk of wildfire in these conditions, PG&E may turn off power to portions of Placer County ranging from the Auburn area and Foresthill to Emigrant Gap, starting as soon as 11 a.m. Wednesday morning.
For guidelines on how to protect yourself and your loved ones before, during, and after a power outage, see our power outage page.
If they shut off power, PG&E will open Customer Resource Centers in Auburn, Colfax and Foresthill. Each will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and will provide power charging stations, light refreshments, restrooms, WiFi, heating and blankets.
